Retired aircraft Hotel in AlaskaIn Anchorage, Alaska, there is a unique hotel waiting for you to explore! Here is a retired DC-6 plane, which has been cleverly converted into an airplane hotel.
The DC-6 was a piston-powered commercial aircraft produced by Douglas aircraft between 1946 and 1958. It was originally designed for military transport, but was later changed to a civilian transport aircraft.
Now, the retired DC-6 has been converted into an aircraft hotel, parked next to the runway, and you can see the small plane practice taking off and landing. If you have a driver's license, you can even land on their runway and check into this unique aircraft hotel!
The cockpit and other original equipment are still kept in the cabin, which makes you feel as if you are in flight. Here, you can experience different ways of accommodation and feel the unique charm of Alaska.
