China International Airlines Co., Ltd. and China Commercial Aircraft Co., Ltd. signed the first user framework agreement of C929 passenger plane, intending to become the first user of C929 wide-body passenger plane in the world.

Comac official website of China shows that C929 is the first jet long-range wide-body passenger plane with independent intellectual property rights developed by China in accordance with internationally accepted airworthiness standards, and it belongs to the same class as Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A330-900. ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

There are 280 basic seats, with a voyage of 12,000 kilometers, cruising speed of Mach 0.85, maximum take-off weight of 247.5 tons, maximum landing weight of 190 tons, maximum take-off field length of 2,900 meters and maximum landing field length of 1,900 meters, which can widely meet the global international and regional air passenger transport market demand.

According to Wu Guanghui, chief designer of C919 and academician of China Academy of Engineering, C929 adopts the green design concept of low fuel consumption, low noise and low emission, and will adopt a series of measures to reduce carbon emissions.

For example, integrated modular avionics technology is adopted to reduce the weight of airborne equipment, and advanced pneumatic technologies such as new generation supercritical airfoil and variable camber wing are adopted to improve aerodynamic efficiency.

At present, the aircraft has taken a key step, such as increasing the amount of advanced composite materials to more than 50%, reducing the structural weight of the aircraft, adopting turbofan engines with high bypass ratio and low noise, and widely using biofuels to achieve lower fuel consumption in the cruise section, and is carrying out preliminary design work.
