United Airlines is about to order more than 100 wide-body aircraft.-USA AIRCRAFT GROUP CORPORATION
Date: 2024/10/10
Thanks to the current recovery of international and business travel, United Airlines proposed this procurement plan. The report said that although the timetable has not yet been finalized, the agreement may be announced in December. United Airlines has been discussing with Boeing and Airbus for several months, and evaluated the quotations of related aircraft.
After years of oversupply, the market demand for wide-body aircraft is also picking up, which is especially beneficial to Boeing, which is in the process of recovering from successive crises. After stopping delivery for more than a year, the aircraft manufacturer delivered the first Dreamliner in August.
According to reports, Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines, told the pilots attending the Denver training course that the company planned to upgrade its fleet with "three-digit" orders. According to the latest annual document of United Airlines, there are more than 800 aircraft in its trunk fleet, most of which are from Boeing.
Last summer, United Airlines ordered the largest aircraft order of a single airline in the past decade, which is also the largest order in American history. The order consists of 200 Boeing 737 MAX(50 MAX8 and 150 MAX10) and 70 Airbus A321neo aircraft, totaling 270 aircraft. At the time of ordering, United Airlines promised to buy a total of 380 Boeing 737MAX, including the delivered aircraft.
