Cockpit panel cleaning standards-USA Aircraft Group Corporation
Date: 2025/8/25
The cabin panel is crucial for the safe operation of the aircraft. It is the interface between the pilot and the aircraft, which is covered with various instruments, buttons, switches and other devices. If the panel is not clean, it may cause a series of problems. For example, the accumulation of dust and stains may affect the display clarity of the instrument, causing the pilot to be unable to read the data accurately; if debris enters the button or switch, it may cause operation failure and the instructions cannot be executed normally at critical moments. Therefore, keeping the cockpit panel clean is an important part of ensuring flight safety. The cleaning frequency of the cockpit panel needs to be determined according to the nature of the mission, the flight environment and other factors. For aircraft with short-distance and low-frequency flight missions, it is recommended to carry out a comprehensive cleaning after the flight every day. For long-distance, high-frequency aircraft, because the panel is more prone to dust and stains, simple cleaning before and after each flight may be required, and in-depth cleaning every three days. In some dusty, sandy and other harsh environments, the cleaning frequency of aircraft should be appropriately increased, such as simple cleaning twice a day and in-depth cleaning once a day or every other day.
A variety of soft cleaning cloths with different textures should be prepared. For example, for-
Some precision instrument areas need to use particularly soft and hair-free microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the instrument surface or leaving fluff to affect the display. For large panel areas, soft cotton with a slightly thicker texture can be used, but also ensure the softness to avoid scratching the panel.
